The Fox and The Crow

In March this hidden midtown gem moved to a bigger space located on the opposite side of The Scotch Pines Center where they had initially opened 4 years ago.

“It was time”, said co-owner Tina Mooney. “We had become so popular we were turning customers away. We were limited to our offerings because of our space constraints…something had to give. When the opportunity arose to move to a bigger space within the same complex, we jumped on it! We are proud of this little cheese shop and are very happy with how the expansion and move turned out, but it wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our customers whose loyalty has been nothing short of amazing.”

The Fox and the Crow is now able to offer new menu items, an expanded wine menu, and enough space to accommodate larger parties. They still emphasize the breadth of knowledge of their staff with specialty cheese and their pairings.

The staff currently includes three CCPs (certified cheese professionals): a distinction very similar to a wine sommelier with a 4000-hour work requirement and a rigorous exam. This cheese shop boasts the highest CCP staff ratio in Colorado. Cheese education is also paramount, as they offer monthly in-depth cheese classes and tastings led by a CCP.

Another reason to stop in: they offer a Monday-Friday Happy Hour from 3-6pm. Food and drink specials abound, including the only Raclette offering in Northern Colorado. Raclette comes from the French word, “to scrape”, and it is an Alpine cow milk cheese that is put under a heat source and is scraped onto a plate full of roasted potatoes, pickled veggies, greens, and baguette. They offer this plate with or without an Alpine meat. The perfect cold weather meal!

If you are hosting a party, be sure to check out their fanciful cheese and meat platters. Orders are taken 24 hours in advance.

Make sure to visit the shop, stay awhile, and let them introduce you to your new favorite cheese! Open Mon-Sat 11am-9pm, Sun12-6pm.
