Bawarchi Biryani Authentic Indian Cuisine
Bawarchi Biryani Point has recently made its debut into the Fort Collins culinary scene. The Indian franchise is one of over 40 within the United States, with recent opening in Centennial and Superior, CO. The restaurant is located near the CSU campus, at 1611 S. College Ave by the Prospect and College Transfort Max Bus Stop.
Along with its relaxed, friendly atmosphere, and knowledgeable staff, a sense of authenticity carries over into the decor where Indian art, elephants, statues and sweet strains of traditional Indian music accent the 150 seat, casual and relaxed dining room. Bawarchi Biryani Point has something for everyone, from those who are experiencing their first taste of Indian food to those who keep coming back to enjoy the huge variety of flavorful Indian specialties.
Their menu is extensive, reasonably priced, and is designed to suit meat-lovers and vegetarians alike. Fourteen different types of yummy Biryanis, tempting Tandoori Sizzlers, Indo-Chinese Specialties, and South and North Indian Specials top the list. “The Food you love and the tradition we follow” is the motto for this restaurant. The owner, Saiprasad Palusa said what makes the restaurant unique is the mix of different Indian flavors with fresh ingredients and authentic Indian masala (spices) that are exported all the way from his hometown in Hyderabad India.
This is home cooking at its best. Savory dishes that are sometimes spicy, sometimes sweet, but always with an earthly goodness. For those of you who are new to Indian cuisine, Biryani is a delicious dish of meat/vegetables marinated in herbs and spices and layered with long-grain basmati rice and steamed to perfection. Chicken, Veg Dum or Goat Dum Biryanis are inviting entrée samplings. The Tandoori dishes are prepared in a traditional clay oven, where extreme heat seals in flavor and allows meats to retain their natural juices. It is one of the oldest forms of a grill for cooking barbecue-style dishes and tasty Indian bread (Naan). Favorite Tandoori specialties include Chicken Tikka Kebabs, Lamb Chops of Heaven and Tandoori Chicken.
A roster of pleasant wines by the glass, Indian beer such as Kingfisher, Hayward and Taj Mahal and a broad selection of liquors are available at the in-house bar. The restaurant offers dine-in, take-out, delivery and catering options. Open for lunch and dinner.
